We represent private and public employers in all aspects of employment law matters, including employee handbooks and other policies, employment contracts (including non-competes, non-solicitation agreements, and confidentiality agreements), severance agreements, as well as representing employers in EEOC matters. We litigate on behalf of employers and other business owners in State and Federal courts throughout the United States, including enforcement of restrictive covenants and other breach of contract claims, and various tort claims including, misappropriation of trade secrets, breach of fiduciary duty, tortuous interference, business conspiracy, defamation and conversion.

Genevieve C. Bradley

Genevieve C. Bradley is a member at Roth Jackson, supporting the firm in all of its practice areas, including commercial litigation, employment law, creditors’ rights, finance, secured transactions, real estate, privacy issues, and direct marketing law.

Since joining the firm, she has assisted in successfully defending employers and businesses in federal and state courts against numerous claims, including defamation actions,  race, age, sex, and disability claims, equal pay claims, contract actions, wage claims, wrongful termination and Bowman claims, as well as lawsuits brought under various consumer protection statutes, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the various federal regulations regarding the same.

Ms. Bradley has also gained significant experience in protecting businesses’ interests and enforcing creditors’ rights in court. To that end, she has assisted in bringing lawsuits to enforce contracts and payment obligations. Likewise, she has favorably conducted numerous commercial foreclosure actions, actions to recover specific personal property, and judgment enforcement actions such as garnishments and debtor interrogatories.

Lastly, Ms. Bradley also provides clients with guidance outside the courtroom.  Specifically, Ms. Bradley has assisted clients in negotiating contacts, drafting manuals and handbooks, and developing internal company policies, including wage payment, employee classifications, and privacy policies.

Gregory M. Caffas

Gregory M. Caffas is an associate at Roth Jackson. Mr. Caffas works in all of the firm’s practice areas to deliver the best possible outcome to clients. He focuses particularly on commercial litigation, creditor’s rights, labor and employment, and direct marketing law.

Mr. Caffas enjoys navigating all stages of litigation, including pre-litigation strategy, discovery, and claim construction. He has first-chair experience litigating cases in both state and federal courts. Mr. Caffas also strives to equitably resolve disputes outside of the courtroom whenever possible, and he has negotiated dozens of settlements for his clients.

Prior to joining Roth Jackson, Mr. Caffas was an associate at a small firm practicing civil and domestic litigation. While in law school, he was a legal intern for the Institute of International Banking Law and Practice where he worked primarily on trade-based financial crime compliance and served as student editor for multiple editions of their Annual Review of International Banking Law. Mr. Caffas also worked as a clerk for Violent Crimes and Narcotics Trafficking division of the District of Columbia U.S. Attorney’s Office, and as a summer clerk in the Shanghai office of AllBright Law Offices, where he assisted in EB-5 visa plan requirements for investors looking to immigrate to the United States.

Mr. Caffas was an active member of George Mason’s Trial Advocacy Association, serving as a member of its executive board and competing in multiple mock trial competitions around the country. He was also Associate Editor of George Mason’s Journal of International Commercial Law.

Sean M. Gibbons

Mr. Gibbons is the founding member of the Richmond office of Roth Jackson. He defends employers in administrative and litigation matters arising out of claims of race, sex, age, religion and disability discrimination, as well as claims filed under the FLSA, the FMLA and ERISA.  Mr. Gibbons  also represents clients in covenant not to compete and trade secret cases.

In addition to litigation, Mr. Gibbons advises clients on numerous employment related issues in order to develop and implement practical employment policies and procedures for his clients. Mr. Gibbons also provides compliance training to employers in all areas of labor and employment law, including anti-harassment training, workplace complaints and investigations, hiring and interviewing, wage and hour, and discipline and discharge.  Additionally, Mr. Gibbons also conducts workplace investigations stemming from internal or external complaints.

Mr. Gibbons also provides guidance to clients involved in business acquisitions. In connection with these transactions, he reviews and drafts employment and restrictive covenant agreements and assists clients with various employment issues which may arise during such transactions.

Mr. Gibbons is consistently recognized as one of Virginia’s “Legal Elite” by Virginia Business magazine and as a “Super Lawyer” by Virginia Super Lawyers magazine.  In 2012 and 2013, Mr. Gibbons was recognized as one of the “Top 100 Lawyers In Virginia” and in 2012 as one of the “Top 50 Lawyers in Richmond” by Virginia Super Lawyers magazine.  He is also listed in Best Lawyers in America for Labor & Employment Law.

Biniam T. Tesfamariam

Biniam T. Tesfamariam is an associate at Roth Jackson, supporting the firm in all of its practice areas, including commercial litigation, direct marketing law, employment law, land use and zoning, and privacy issues.

Mr. Tesfamariam has litigated cases and counseled clients in a wide variety of complex and non-complex disputes, including individual and class-action cases arising out of contract, federal and state consumer-protection statutes, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and the Fair Credit Reporting Act, creditor’s rights, and privacy issues.

Prior to joining Roth Jackson, Mr. Tesfamariam was an attorney at an AM-100 firm litigating in the consumer financial services space.  Mr. Tesfamariam draws on his prior experience assisting national banks, consumer reporting agencies, and other financial services institutions in complex nationwide litigation matters and review and counsel of compliance procedures to provide clients with realistic expectations and creative strategies to handle the multitude of issues that present themselves throughout the litigation process.
